Educational decisions play a crucial role in shaping future labour market and life outcomes. Yet, many students lack first-hand information and may hold inaccurate beliefs about pecuniary and non-pecuniary returns from different college choices. We conducted a RCT aimed at providing high school students with more information about university life and the study environment. Specifically, we matched them with mentors enrolled in STEM or Economics programs at the University of Bologna and facilitated 1-1 online meetings. Treated students were over 30% more likely to choose the same field of study as their mentor. However, their expectations did not evolve differently.
