EUROMIDBRIDGE è un progetto ospitato dal Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche dell'Università di Verona e realizzato con una collaborazione fra diversi partners italiani quali: ANCI IDEALI, CEPIM Interporto PARMA, Consorzio MIDEURO, Consorzio ZAI, FICEI, ISFORT, Porto di Goia Tauro, Porto di La Spezia, Quadrante Servizi, SIMEST, T.O. DELTA S.p.A., UNIONTRASPORTI ed internazionali quali: Governatorato di Jenin (Palestina), Hallabat Industrial Park (Gior-dania), Jenin Industrial Estate (Palestina), PIDECO (Palestina), Porto di Haifa (Israele), Porto di Norimberga (Germania), Porto di Rostock (Germania), Porto di Zebrugge (Belgio). Sono inoltre coinvolte l'Università di Berlino, quella di Al-Quds (Palestina) e quella di Haifa (Israele).
Lo scopo del progetto è quello di creare un collegamento diretto tra il Nord ed il Sud dell’Europa, da un lato, e l’area mediterranea e mediorientale dall’altra, promuovendo sia maggiori volumi di scambi che investimenti diretti.
EUROMIDBRIDGE è un corridoio logistico di collegamento diretto nell’area mediorientale che utilizza le infrastrutture esistenti, basato sull’interporto di Verona e connesso con i sistemi portuali e logistici del Nord Europa, che utilizza i porti italiani ed entra nella regione attraverso il porto di Haifa. Da questo nodo promuove l’area industriale di Jenin in Palestina a sostegno dell’economia e dell’export, attraversa quindi il confine giordano a nord e penetra il più vasto mercato regionale offrendo una alternativa efficiente e rapida al movimento merci e di persone
Il fine del progetto è quello di costruire un corridoio per la pace in Palestina riaprendo l’anitca Via della Seta. La partnership fra porti, centri intermodali, aree industriali, società di promozione dello sviluppo ed università gode di ampio supporto politico nell’area mediorientale e si propone come un progetto di “quick impact” su cui fondare il processo di pace. Con EUROMIDBRIDGE rinasce quindi l’antico percorso di Marco Polo come mezzo di promozione della ricchezza, del commercio e della risoluzione dei conflitti.

The aim is to create a more direct link between Northern and Southern Europe on the one hand and the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern areas on the other by promoting both greater exchange volume and direct investment.
The initiative began in September 2005 during a trip to Israel, Palestine and Jordan through direct meetings with the port of Haifa and the Industrial Area of Jenin.
The reasons:
- Interest in the steady increase in traffic volume through the Mediterranean basin (+ 9% a year) and the growing demand for goods in the Middle East.
- To verify the immediate effectiveness of a new logistic corridor that, as a single integrated system, would link Europe from North to South to the Middle Eastern area and would then manage traffic developments and promote investments, thus overcoming, for economic purposes, the difficulties and tensions in the area.
- To involve the whole logistics system and all commercial and industrial enterprises as the initiative comes directly from the infrastructure operators i.e. shipping and transport companies.
- The participation of the Jenin area as a distribution and industrial platform, is a valuable asset at an international level.
- To create a wider regional market in the Middle East as hoped for by the international community.
What is EUROMIDBRIDGE
A logistic corridor that directly penetrates the Middle Eastern area and one that use the existing infrastructures based at the freight village in Verona (Italy) and connects to the ports and logistics systems of Northern Europe (Rostock, Nuremburg, etc.):
- through the Italian ports,
- entering the region through the Port of Haifa in Israel,
- promoting the industrial area and logistic platform of Jenin in Palestine to support the economy and transportation,
- crossing the Jordanian border to the north and attracting investments here as well,
- accessing the widest regional market by offering an efficient and fast alternative to freight transport.
