Lesson timetable

Learning outcomes

To know and to understand the monetary and financial side of the international economic relations.
To be able to make use of the instruments and models in order to interpret the problems of the international coordination among different countries.
Specific attention will be given to the birth and the running of European Monetary Union.
Part of the course will be tutorial with group work on specific issues.

Exchange rate theories
Mechanisms of balance of payment’s equilibrium
Open economy macroeconomics
Optimal currency areas and international monetary systems

Assessment methods and criteria

Final assesment is written tests and exercises.
