Agri-food System Research Group

The research group focuses on key topics within the agri-food system, with a specific emphasis on:

  • Management of agri-food and wine enterprises
  • Food & Beverage marketing
  • Analysis of demand and consumer behavior for Food & Beverage products and services in rural tourism, wine tourism, hospitality, and catering
  • Economics and management of natural resources and the environment
  • Public policies in the agri-food, wine, and nutrition sectors
  • Sustainable management models and market research for sustainable Food & Beverage products

The group's research aims to generate knowledge and develop applied tools to support managerial decision-making in businesses and agri-food supply chains.

Additionally, the research group is committed to knowledge transfer activities, fostering collaboration with businesses in the agri-food and wine sectors by promoting research projects in partnership and engaging in third mission activities and dissemination.

Our research is based on an integrated, multi-stakeholder approach, aimed at promoting a sustainable consumption model that considers economic, social, and environmental dimensions, ensuring fair value distribution across all actors in the food supply chain, from producers to consumers—"from farm to fork." Our mission is to engage with all stakeholders in the agri-food sector to foster new knowledge and applications.

Furthermore, the research group is dedicated to continuously enhancing the quality of its research, publishing in internationally indexed journals (Scopus and Clarivate Analytics) and participating in high-profile international conferences and seminars to increase its global visibility, recognition, and impact.

The group also strives to strengthen its internationalization efforts through the participation and coordination of research projects and the facilitation of incoming and outgoing visiting researchers in collaboration with prestigious universities and research centers worldwide.
