The aim of this course is to explain the evolution of the concepts of agribusiness and agrifood supply chain and understand the structure and the strategies of the economic agents in the international agrifood systems.
Particular attention is given to the new roles of agriculture, the variables and the choice criteria determining the new food demand trends and the problems concerning the management and the certification of quality in the agrifood chains.
Finally, the course intends to analyse the opportunities developed by the inter-organisational relations with particular regard to their capacity to stimulate rural development processes.
