Martina Menon, (Ph.D. in Economics, University of York, UK, M.Sc. Microeconomics, University of York UK, and M.Sc. Economics, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy) is assistant professor of economics at the University of Verona (Italy), where she teaches microeconomics and political economy at the undergraduate level and consumption theory at the graduate level. She has affiliations to AIEL and Sites-IDEAS (Italian Development Economists Association). She has extensive experience in advanced econometrics and its applications to family decisions, such as consumption, labour participation, schooling choices, collective household model, and measurement of family and individual wellbeing. She has been involved as co-principal investigator in a number of research programs aimed at investigating 1) causal effects of the juvenile crime, 2) effects of disability on the family and individual wellbeing, 3) equity and access to tertiary education in Italy. She has also analysed the last reform of the Italian means-testing toll (ISEE). Her research has been presented in many national and international conferences. She has authored research papers in the area of collective household theory, subjective wellbeing, identification of equivalence scales, cognitive and non-cognitive outcomes, social inclusion and altruism, enrolment in higher education. In the last five years, she has published on international and national journals, Theoretical Economics, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy, Economics Letters, Economic Theory Bulletin, Research on Economic Inequality, Social Indicators Research, Rivista Internazionale di Scienze Sociali, Rivista di Politica Economica, and she has a number of papers under revision in international journals.
