Research in the rankings

The Department of Economics (DSE) covers research topics related to Political economy, Economic policy, Public finance, Econometrics, Economic history, Statistics, Economic statistics, Mathematical methods for economics and actuarial and financial sciences, with both theoretical and applied approaches. Scientific production is characterized by high average quality and increasing international visibility. Each year, the DSE produces more than 50 articles published in scientific journals, over 70% of which are ranked in Class A according to the ANVUR classification.

The results of the VQR evaluations consistently place the DSE among the top departments in its size category. In the RepEc ranking, based on the publications of the Department’s members, the DSE consistently ranks among the top departments and research institutions in Economics in Italy.

DSE members regularly participate in competitive national and international research projects (e.g., PRIN, FIS, Horizon Europe), often in coordination roles. Also thanks to the MUR funding as a “Department of Excellence” for the 2023-2027 period, the DSE aims to consolidate its traditional research areas while expanding into new fields.
