Learning outcomes

The goal of the course is to give students a solid foundation in the main topics in microeconomic theory. This part will cover Consumer Theory and Game Theory, while Professor Giovannetti will delivery lectures on Production Theory.This course relies on graphical analysis, elementary algebra as well as basic calculus. The course will be based on the textbook "Microeconomic Theory", by Mas-Colell A., M. Whinston, J. Green (1995).

Syllabus

Individual decision making:
-Preferences, choices, demand theory, production, choice under uncertainty.
Game theory:
-Normal form games, extensive form games and the corresponding solution concepts.
Market equilibrium and market failure.

The suggested textbooks is Microeconomic Theory by A. Mas Colell, M. D. Whinston, and J. Green().

Assessment methods and criteria

The final exam will be written.
