The course examines the transition to industrial capitalism, namely a complex evolutionary process encompassing modern and contemporary history. Drawing on a broad outline that will cover the most recent changes in the capitalistic system, the students will be enabled to identify the evolutionary dinamics of economic phaenomena and to place them within various contexts. They will also realize that present-day events are to be explained against the backdrop of the long-term transformations that originated them.
The final exam will be an interview aiming at testing the student's overall knowledge by means of oral questions related to the relevant concepts and historical facts.
