In the first part the aim of this course is to understand the role of the cooperative firms in the agrifood systems in order to highlight their strengths and weaknesses.
Afterwards the organizational, managerial and normative characteristics are compared for the most significant experiences of the agrifood cooperation in Italy, in Europe and in the United States.
Finally, the objectives and the functions of agricultural producer organisations in the most relevant international agrifood supply chains are developed.
