DSE Econ LAB (Laboratorio di Econometria e Statistica)

Il laboratorio si occupa di gestione dei data base delle ricerche del DSE, dell’esecuzione statistica ed econometria delle ricerche in atto presso il Dipartimento e per dare accesso agli studenti di dottorato e di master affinché acquisiscano le basi di programmazione matematica e statistica. L’attività di ricerca riguarda l’area di Economia Politica, Politica Economica, Econometria, Scienza delle Finanze, Finanza, Matematica, ed Economia Applicata.

I servizi del Laboratorio di Econometria e Statistica sono disponibili anche all’esterno a favore di istituzioni ed aziende private. L’attività di didattica e di ricerca del Laboratorio è supportata da: un server Windows 2008 sul quale sono installati programmi scientifici: Matlab, Gauss; Scientific Workplace, Stata. Questi programmi sono raggiungibili ed eseguibili in remoto da tutto il personale afferente al Dipartimento e dagli studenti abilitati; un server Windows 2003 sul quale è installato il servizio web collegato al programma Pc-Axis Web; un server Linux sul quale sono caricati i siti web per la pubblicazione e la distribuzione dei dati statistici; un’aula informatica (con 9 postazioni Mac/Windows) dedicata ai Dottorandi; un laboratorio dedicato ai frequentanti dei Master;

How to access the server DSESERVER remotely Features of the server: Dell Power Edge T610 2 xIntel Xeon x5550, 2.66 GHz, 8 MB Cache, 32 GB Ram, OS Windows Server 2008, 64 bit) To use the remote laboratory via web users must be: • declared as users in GIA (system that manages accesses to most University platforms); • registered as users of the domain "economianx" (faculty of Economics); • enabled by the technical manager. To use the lab within the Department users must be: • registered as users of the domain "economianx"; • enabled by the technical manager. To get access ask for Luciano Vallone within the department CONNECTING VIA WEB Use following link: https://sslvpn.univr.it (secure web service sslvpn) Enter GIA username and password, and the first time, set up a "Terminal Session" (last line at the bottom of the screen, right click the icon "add Terminal Sessions”) data to be entered in terminal sessions: Bookmark Name: Remote Laboratory Host: winr.dse.univr.it Screen size: Full Screen Color Depth: 32-bit (true color) Username: economianx \ username; Password: your password Select: Connect local drives Save; click on the hyperlink to connect to the server Use FileZilla or another FTP program to upload and download files from the server: Program settings FileZilla Open “gestore siti” (site manager) from the “file” menu, then select “new site” and enter: Host: winr.dse.univr.it Port: 21 Server type: FTP - File Transfer Protocol Access Type: Normal User: economianx \ username password: your password save settings Link to download Filezilla: http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client CONNECTING WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT log in on the computer of the Department with username and password of the domain "economianx"; to connect to the Windows server use "Remote Desktop Connection" Start> All Programs> Accessories> Remote Desktop Connection Enter the dns address winr.dse.univr.it and click on Connect When the connection to the remote server appears select the icon “Other User” and enter: User: economianx \ username password: your password to process data: copy your files from “risorse del computer” (“My Computer”) to the shared disk "your username on 'Samba-LDAP PDC Server Economy (PDC-econx)"; this disk is also seen on the server; When you have finished copy the processed data on an USB stick PROGRAMS AVAILABLE ON THE SERVER You can use the following programs: • Gauss9.0 • Stata 11 • Stat / Transfer • Scientific WorkPlace 5.5 • MatLab 6.2 .
