Federico Perali è professore ordinario di Politica Economica presso l’Università di Verona dove insegna Politica Economica, Economia dello Sviluppo e teoria della Negoziazione a livello di laurea magistrale e di dottorato. Ha un Ph.D. conseguito presso l’Università del Wisconsin – USA. È stato consulente della Banca Mondiale, Banca Europea degli Investimenti, FAO, OECD, Pontificio Consiglio di Giustizia e Pace, Unicef, Commissione per la Povertà, Ismea e Telecom Italia. I principali interessi di ricerca riguardano la stima del costo dei figli e delle disabilità, la povertà e l’ineguaglianza, la distribuzione delle risorse all’interno della famiglia, le politiche familiari, la valutazione del lavoro “non pagato” in attività domestiche, l’impresa familiare e micro e macro modelli di politica economica della famiglia, l’efficacia dell’ISEE, le cause della criminalità giovanile, e l’analisi delle scelte relative all’istruzione terziaria e all’adozione dei prestiti d’onore. È membro del comitato scientifico del Centro Studi Interuniversitario CHILD (Center for Household, Income, Labor and Demographics), del Centro International per lo Sviluppo Economico (ICID) e del “Centro Studi e Ricerche sulla Famiglia” dell’Università Cattolica di Milano. È autore di numerose pubblicazioni e libri internazionali nel campo dell’economia della famiglia, del benessere e dello sviluppo umano. Sino al 2006 ha coordinato l’International Ph.D. Program of Economics and Finance dell’Università degli studi di Verona. Dal 2006 al 2012 ha diretto il Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche dell’Università di Verona. Dal 2014 al 2015 ha servito come Direttore della Scuola di Dottorato in Scienze Giuridiche e Economiche. Nel 2016 ha fondato l’Economics Living Lab, uno spin-off accreditato dell’Università di Verona.
