Luca Taschini è ricercatore a tempo determinato presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche dell’Università degli Studi di Verona. Ha conseguito un PhD all'Università di Zurigo e continuato la sua ricerca al Grantham Research Institute presso la London School of Economics. È stato Visiting Scholar presso il Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change, MIT - Boston (MA), U.S.A. e Visiting Scholar presso il Research Center for Sustainability Science, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Giappone. 

Attualmente è membro del CESifo Energy and Climate Economics Research Group - Monaco, Germania
