Prof. Pertile's research interests are broadly in the field of public economics, with a particular focus on health economics. Specific topics of interest in the field of health economics include the link between regulation and innovation in health care technologies, optimal investment decisions under uncertainty in dynamic context and the economics of pharmaceutical markets.
Other areas of research include the analysis of the economic implications in terms of (inter- and intra- generational) equity and efficiency of the combinations of large number of public policy programs of expenditure and taxation, adopting a life-cycle perspective.
