The course aims at outlining the social and economic evolution of Europe between the eighteenth and the twentieth century. It is divided into two parts: a general one, which is the same for all the students, and a special one. As far as the special part is concerned, the students can choose between two different options: a) manufactures and industries in central-eastern Valle Padana; b) political economists and philanthropists in Italy after the Unification

Syllabus

Frontal lessons, 9 credits. These lessons aim at addressing the issues included in the programme. Exercise lessons will focus on exemplifying case studies.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final exam will be an interview aiming at testing the students’ overall knowledge by means of oral questions related to the required readings.
