SPERA - Study Centre for Rural and Environmental Economic Policies
SPERA is an inter-university study centre which has been set up with the aim of carrying out the following activities:
. to promote, provide back up to and coordinate theoretical and applied study and research, which may be of a multidisciplinary nature, and which aims to assess the impact of economic rural and environmental policy. This may also refer to areas connected with Public Health and guarantees of food quality, taking into account, in particular, the role of public and private institutions of a national, international, regional or local type;
. to simulate in advance, assess along the way, and analyse at a later date, the impact of rural, environmental, economic, agricultural policies, at a micro and macro level and in company, sectorial, territorial contexts, taking together the economic, social and environmental aspects, both where there are advanced economies and where the economies are developing;
. to favour the collection of documentation on the above-mentioned topics, by means of integrating libraries and sharing database information;
. to publicize the results of research activities, which may also be done by publishing working papers and creating a web site on the Internet, in order to publicize these results as widely as possible;
. to promote and organize, also by collaborating with other public and private bodies, congresses, scientific seminars, round tables and other study initiatives and means of spreading information on the themes being researched;
. to create a network of relationships with other study centres interested in assessing economic rural and environmental policies, both at a national and international level;
. to draw up, coordinate and run projects designed for national and international research;
. to collaborate with those University Faculties which belong to SPERA in order to set up educational courses, further education and specialization opportunities on topics related to this area of research.
