SAFE - Center for Studies in Actuarial and Financial Economics/ Engineering
The mission of the SAFE Center is to undertake a program of research and education in the following areas: Financial Engineering Investment Analysis and Valuation Actuarial Sciences Risk Management The SAFE Center seeks to promote scholarly research and stimulate dialogue between the academic and financial communities. The SAFE Center sponsors a variety of educational and research activities. Research results are disseminated through the Working Paper Series and the Center web page. The Center also supports programs aimed at a wider audience such as academic conferences and practitioner programs intended for professionals who use advanced scientific tools for designing new products and managing financial risk. The SAFE Center sponsors quantitative analysis of financial and insurance markets using statistical and computational models. The Center seeks to stimulate advances in new techniques of financial engineering, which have become crucial to a wide spectrum of business activities, including investment banking, commercial banking, corporate finance, insurance, capital budgeting, portfolio management, risk management and financial consulting and planning.
