CHILD - Centre for Household, income, Labour and Demographic Economics
To promote the collaboration of the researchers in this field of population and household economics with a particular interest in the relationships between households, within households and between the family and the state. To coordinate the acquisition of bibliographic resources concerning the economics of the family and demographic economics. To collect information on a microeconomic and macroeconomic level about the various aspects of the family at a European and international
level. To organise, together with the collaboration of other public and private institutions, lectures, workshops and specialization courses in order to promote research and policy analyses. To build a network of relationships between CHILD and other centres of study that are interested in the same topics in other countries, like ISER (Institute for Social Economic Research) at the University of Essex, IZA (Institute for the Study of Labour) in Bonn, C.V. Starr Center for Applied Economics and CES (Center for European Studies) at New York University. To coordinate and manage research projects at a European and international level. To cooperate with other Italian and foreign universities associated with CHILD in the organisation of student and researcher exchange programmes. To publish a series of working papers regarding several aspects of family economics at an empirical and theoretical level.
